A Plea for Non-Conformity

King James Version of the BibleImage via Wikipedia

Good Evening All!

I have a favor to ask all of you who visit my blog. If you would, take a couple of minutes to look over at the right side of my blog in my Prayer Line. There are several people's names listed who are in desperate need of all the prayers they can get. I know, this is my burden which I enjoy doing. I love praying for people, but I have been impressed over the last few days to asked for your help in praying for these people. I am always telling people there is strength in numbers. I know that God reduced an army from 10,000 to 300, and they still won the battle, but He also say where there are 2 or 3 in agreement, I am in the midst of them. So I asked your help in praying for these precious people in need of God's intervention. Thank you VERY MUCH.

I had nothing interesting happen to me today worthy of writing about, so I decided to study deeper into the scripture which was provided at the beginning of my post tonight. It is Romans 12:2. The King James Version was quoted at the top of this post, and here is a more modern way, the Message Bible. Don't become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You'll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what He wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. The New International Version states: Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to rest and approve what God's will is--His good pleasing and perfect will. Here are 3 different versions of the Bible saying that we need to Not follow the "trend" of today's society, we need to take a few steps back and check out what is morally acceptable to God. Not wanting to sound like a "doomsday" preacher, but this world shall too pass away, and we are definitely in the latter days, so shouldn't we be more vigilant in our walk with God?

My husband is very private about his relationship with God, but he is one of those who seem very non-chalant about the whole thing. We were having a discussion a while back, and I asked him wouldn't it be better "safe than sorry"? I couldn't help but feel that if he would get a little more serious about his relationship with God that it would open his eyes. I don't want to be forceful as that would prove disastrous. I have finally decided to let go, and let God. In other words, just live by example and prayer, and let God do the work.

Well, for this to be a short blog, I ended up with quite a bit to say, huh? I better call it quits for the night as 7:30am comes early, seeing how it's 1:10 am.

Good Night All and May God Bless!

PJ

Yes, let go. I am the same way with my husband. Exact same scenario.

Looked at the prayer list. Wow, put me in perspective of the issues that some people are going through.

yeah pj, we all eventually learn that while talk is good, example is better.
you do a great job of showing a fine example of a godly woman.

Conversation the other day:

so Randy, have you been reading your Bible?

So have you been talking to God? Been praying?

Do you feel close in your relationship?

To the last question he states: ya, I feel close to you.

LOL...

No Randy, are you CLOSE to God?

than it was time to just keep my mouth shut and pray!! It's God's doing, His work in Randy's life,,NOT my mouth going on..sigh. Took awhile for me to learn that one...
