Poetry - A Gift from God- His Still Small Voice

Good afternoon to All!

Yesterday I was blessed to go to Ladies Conference in Iowa Park, Texas near Wichita Falls. I was privileged to hear some great speakers. One in particular was Sister Roxanne Perkins from the Metroplex area. She is also a songwriter and a poet. I wish I could figure out how to place my "player" back on here. I don't know what happened, but it disappeared somehow. Anyway, I transcribed this poem into print from her CD. I know it won't have the same effect because the expression in her voice is phenomenal to hear, but if I can find someone to help me get my player back on here, I'll see if I can play the CD rather than just typing it.

SCRIPTURE:

(11) And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD. And, behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but the LORD was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the LORD was not in the earthquake: (12) And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. (13) And it was so, when Elijah heard it, that he wrapped his face in his mantle, and went out, and stood in the entering in of the cave. And, behold, there came a voice unto him, and said, What doest thou here, Elijah? 1 Kings 19:11-13 (King James Version)

(9) He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.class="versenum" id="en-KJV-14625">(10) Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:9-10 (King James Version)

A lot of people get discouraged when they pray. They complain, "well, I tried...I prayed and prayed, but He didn't answer my prayers. The problem is He answers but they do not hear. They are so busy praying , "I want, I need, please make this happen, please heal me.. and so on. They don't stop to listen. God is not going to Shake you and scream LISTEN TO ME. According to the Bible, He has a "still, small voice. If we want to hear him, We have to stop talking and start listening.

The Title of this Poem is :

SHHHHH! BE QUIET

Shhhhhh! Be Quiet! Do you hear His voice?
He's trying to speak to you.
But it's your choice. Stand still if you want to know His will.
Let Him whisper in your ear.

Shhh! Be Quiet. His words are very clear. He's saying "come here, to me.
Let me show you things you've never seen before.
Another world to explore.

Shhh! Be quiet! You'll hear His voice. He's trying to speak to you.
I said, He's trying to speak to you,
But it's your choice.

He speaks through the atmosphere, through things seen and unseen.
He's speaking right now, but your heart must allow....

Shhhh! Be quiet! Heart to heart, soul to soul, spirit to Spirit,
Open up your mind and hear it.

He wants to speak to you, change your way of thinking.
He wants to fill the place that is empty.

Shhh! Be quiet and allow God to do what He's done since the beginning of time.
Placing His love on the line.

Shhh! Be quiet! Do you want to hear His voice?
He's trying to speak to you, but it's your choice.

Stand still if you want to know His will.
Let Him whisper...
Let Him whisper...
Let Him whisper in your ear.

Shhh! Be quiet. He'll speak to you but you've got to hear Him.

Shhh! Be quiet...

So many times we listen to other voices that when God speaks we wonder if it is Him talking to us. That is why when we spend time with Him we won't wonder if it's His voice or not.
