SEEK GOD, THEN SERVE GOD

Good Evening to All!

"As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the LORD searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever." (1 Chronicles 28:9)

Know the God of your father[have personal knowledge of Him, be acquainted with, and understand Him; appreciate, heed, and cherish Him] and serve Him with a blameless heart and a willing mind. ( Amp. version)

Jesus can identify with people who have been abused by religious law and oppressed by harsh religious leadership. He wants to see people healed physically, emotionally and spiritually so that they know that God is merciful, patient, slow to anger, and ready to forgive. To be a "true Christian", we must strive to bring forth from us the "fruit of the Spirit" which was partially just mentioned above. He will help us to achieve this goal if we will let Him. One thing about God is He will never ask us to do ANYTHING of which He does not equip us. He would not send us into battle without our swords. (His Word), He would not ask us to attempt anything that He did not prepare us for, but the key is we MUST ask for His help. He will not leave us powerless. He will always give us what we need to accomplish our tasks.

When He called out "Come to Me , all you who labor and are heavy-laden" (Matthew 11:28), He was talking to people who had truly been trying to serve Him and be faithful, only to fail time and again. He's wanting to give comfort and support to those who have tried over and over again only to feel like failures This problem is just as prevalent today. Many people have mistakenly gotten seeking God and serving God mixed up. You cannot "find God" by doing good works. Yes, good works are important, or Jesus would not have included the verse about "when you do for the least of them you do for me". There must be a balance. You get to know God through studying His Word, Prayer, and talking with Him on a regular basis. As you get to know Him then you start serving Him by doing His work and His will. We must remember not to get the "cart before the horse." Doing God's Work and God's will requires asking Him what He wants us to do. Not just assuming any "good work" will do. God has a specific plan for each of us, and we must remember that He is in charge. He probably has certain things He wants us to do in a certain order. Therefore we should always pray and ask for His guidance before jumping into a project.

I saw this little cartoon and couldn't resist it. It speaks volumes. If we don't take the time to Seek Him before we Serve Him, all is in vain because it will not be His will being done, but our own. (There we go "leaning on our own understanding"). We must submit prayer and supplication for everything to be in God's Will. He must be part of every area of our lives.

We must Ask God what He wants us to do, and then do it with ALL of our Heart and Full commitment.

Good Night to All and May God Bless!

And, this post is really a confirmation of what God has been speaking to my heart. My love for Him is shown through my obedience. Obedience is the fruit of my love!

Thank you for always taking time to explain God's word so clearly... I appreciate your heart, PJ...
