"The 365 Most Important Bible Passages For Women" Book Review and Give-Away

I have found a most wonderfully inspiring book titled "The 365 Most Important Bible Passages For Women" of which a copy was sent to me " by Faith Words at Hachette Book Group as compensation for the Book Review.

"People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within". ElisabethKubler-Ross.

I really loved this quote. I must apologize to the author of this quote. Her last name Kubler is supposed to have the two little dots above the "u", but I didn't know how to put them on there. So I do know that I did not type your name correctly, so I am very sorry.

Do you have a special Bible verse that you think about or recite to yourself when you get discouraged? A verse or passage that gets you through the tough times reminding you that God is there watching over you? Well, This book is FULL of these passages. It is brimming with these Biblical passages and then also has short inspirational stories to go with each passage!
They had the right idea when they gave it the subtitle "Daily Readings and Meditations on Becoming the Woman God Created You to Be".

I enjoy the way that the Devotions are divided into sections as I explained above. That way you don't have to hunt for the specific prayer or devotion, just look up the topic. This book is very well laid out.

Here is a small taste for you.

April 23

"Understanding Men"

A Man of Integrity

"He [Job] hasn't changed, even though you persuaded me to destroy him for no reason."
Satan answered, "There's no pain like your own. People will do anything to stay alive." . . .
"All right!" the Lord replied. "Make Job suffer as much as you want, but just don't kill him." Satan left and caused painful sores to break out all over Job's body--from head to toe.
Then Job sat on the ash-heap to show his sorrow. An while he was scraping his sores with a broken piece of pottery, his wife asked, "Why do you still trust God? Why don't you curse him and die?"

Job replied, "Don't talk like a fool! If we accept blessings from God, we must accept trouble as well." In all that happened, Job never once said anything against God. Job 2:3-4, 6-10 CEV (Contemporary English Version).

After this passage comes the explanation of Job's integrity. How he stood steadfast to God and loved Him. As he said if we are to accept blessings from God we must accept the trouble also and went into detail about what integrity means in a person and how important it is. That was today's Devotional in this precious book. As I said, it is full of wonderful and meaningful passages for Every need from Significance to Relationships and Communication. Even from Understanding Men, Choices, Stress & Community, Beauty and Health, Hope and Contentment and Last but NOT least, Faith and Love.

I don't think there is a problem that isn't covered with a Biblical reference in this book. I recommend it to all women.

If You like Devotional Books, this is an excellent one to use.

To Enter the Give-Away for this precious book, just leave a comment with your e-mail address and a short note on why you would like to win this book OR your favorite Bible verse. I will be excepting entries from April 25 (today) until midnight May 8th. (2 Weeks). I will then utilize Random.org to determine the winner.

Good Night to all and May God bless,

It sounds like a great book! My favorite verse, or rather one of my favorites has always been Matthew 17:20. I have a little bracelet with an amulet containing a mustard seed and that very verse that I received from my great grandmother when I was a kid. I wear it as a daily reminder to keep up the faith.

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you. Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about it's own things. Sufficient for the day is it's own trouble.

Thanks for the wonderful giveaway, PJ! My favorite Bible verse? Hmmm... 2 Corithians 12:9 {But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.}

Thank you. This sounds like a book that would be very valuable to not only me, but others in my life who are finding their way through life and the Bible.

PJ, maybe I can solve your dilemma regarding the u with the two dots over it. Try this, hold down the ALT key and type the numbers 0252. That should yield this: ΓΌ

My very favorite Bible verse is John 11:35 "Jesus wept."

It is my favorite because it shows how human Christ was in the flesh. He felt emotions, grief, over the loss of a friend, just as we do. Imagine our Saviour crying over us...to be so worthy of His tears.

My second favorite Bible verse is 2 Timothy 1:7 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

This verse was given to me during one of the most traumatic times of my life. I claimed it, I prayed it, I believed it, and He removed my fear. It was gone until I stupidly snatched it back. Who does such a thing after feeling the peace of true freedom from fear?

Me. Human me. OY!

As I read over your post, the thought struck me that this is a book I could use in my ministry. While I want to help all, my area is seems to be gearing towards woman. Empowering them. Strengthening them. Showing them just how loved they are by Him.

My favorite verse?

Phillipians 3:8 ~ "What is more, I consider everything a loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them garbage, that I may gain Christ"

Prayers and blessings my friend :)
