"THE PEACE OF GOD"

Good evening to All!

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:7 KJV)

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (NKJV)

According to the NKJV Reference: The phrase "will guard" (will guard your hearts and minds) is used by Paul in a military sense which implies that our minds are in a battle zone and need to be "protected by a military guard" since the purpose of such a guard in a wartime situation is either to prevent a hostile invasion or to keep the inhabitants of a besieged city from escaping. The peace of God operates in the same way; to protect the mind from external corrupting influences and to keep the mind focused on God's truth.

God can give you peace when you don't see any possible way. I know, I've been there. When my mom passed away when I was young, I didn't think I would ever get over it. I lashed out any way I possibly could. Nothing helped. I wasn't in church then, but I knew no human was making me feel better, my precious older sister tried, but she was hurting, herself. After shuffling from relative to relative (oldest sister, to dad, neither of which I was very close to) I finally ended up with the sister who I was close to, who lived in the same town, who I spent week-ends with and shared secrets and girl talk. Even though she was married and had a little one, she was still very young and I think I "forced" her by my whining and begging to bite off more than she and her hubby could chew. Anyway, my point is even as much as I love my sister, even she couldn't give me peace about this because she was trying to find some herself.

I turned to God. I didn't start going to church, but I did start praying. I truly believe He got me though the hard times of my loss, and still is, even 43 years later, I still cry at times because I miss not having mom to talk to and share things with, but God reminds me that He can hear me and is always here for me.

Have you ever been in dilemma where you felt uneasy about saying something to someone or doing something? If you are a Christian and have the Holy Ghost, it is He that is causing this in your spirit. This is how the Holy Ghost guides you.

The reason I say "if you are a Christian", is because if you haven't invited Jesus into your heart, confessed your sins to Him and showed Him that you are serious about living for God, by repenting, being baptized in the Name of Jesus, then According to ACTS 2:38 AFTER doing these things you SHALL receive the Holy Ghost.

God still watches after you whether you have the Holy Ghost or not, but the Holy Ghost is what prompts you to do right, by convicting your spirit.

Now getting back to the original though... Peace. The Holy Ghost will give you peace. As stated earlier, if you start to do something like wear a blouse that shows too much, or shorts that are too short, and you get a tugging inside that is giving you hesitation, Don't wear them, that is the Holy Ghost telling you to dress modestly according to God's word. If you want to go out and spend more money than you have, or waste it on something you don't need and you need groceries in the house, yet something tells you inside you really need to go to the grocery store first, then go to the grocery store. That is the Holy Spirit saying to be good stewards with your money and use it wisely. If you will follow the leading of the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit, He will give you peace.

If you will read your Bible and abide by God's Word, He will give you peace. You cannot go wrong my following the Word of the Lord. He will give you Peace that passes all understanding. Where you think there is no way for Peace to abound, "PRAY", For God Will Give You Peace.

We must remember His thoughts are higher than our thoughts and His ways are higher than our ways. We cannot understand how He does what He does, but if we love Him and Live for Him He will continually give us peace when we ask for it and we need it.

According to Colossians 3:15, And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Now, what brings us peace of God? Plan of Salvation (Acts 2:38), Sincere Repentance, Faith in God, and Trust in God.

Anytime we lose our peace, we must stop and focus on God. Allow Him to talk to us and LISTEN to Him. He has something to say. Peace serves as a compass in our hearts to point us in the right direction. This is why the Bible says: "Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration and holiness without which no one will [ever] see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14).

My Pastor said something very wise the other day. The devil's job is to steal, kill
Good Evening to All! and destroy. If he can steal our joy and our peace of God , that makes him very happy.

"Satan will put you on 'Guilt Airlines' and Fly you wherever you want to go" if you let him. Don't let him steal, kill and destroy your peace.

Good Night to All and May God Bless!

PJ,

You pastor is so right about Satan wanting to steal from us. His greatest desire is to steal the truth from those seeking it.

It is so sad to see how blinded some are to truths that are so plain to understand. At times, when I talk to those who are not saved, it is like I am talking to a brick wall.

I guess, if nothing else, it shows us of our need to be thankful to the Lord for opening up our spiritual eyes and showing us the truth when we could not see it for ourselves.

May the Lord bles syou,
Rob
