"NO LIMITS"
Good Evening to All!
For God may speak in one way, or in another, Yet man does not perceive it. (Job 33:14)
Our problem is we put limitations on God. We want him to speak to us, but we have conditioned ourselves to be "close-minded when it comes to this. We know He speaks to us through His Word. Everyone understand that.
The thing is if our Pastor or elder in our church tells us something or even a friend, we automatically decide that since what is being told to us is through a human's mouth, then how can it be from God? How do we know that it isn't just this person's own opinion? I understand completely. I've been there and done that. I didn't always have a close personal relationship with Christ.
I finally figured out the closer one becomes to God the easier it is to discern whether what we hear is from Him or the person, or other means. You will be able to feel it in your spirit.
God talks to people in many different ways. He speaks through His Word of course, He uses Men of God whom He has placed a calling or a "burden to teach and preach His Word. He can use billboards. I have had that happen a time or two. We'll be going somewhere and I'll have something on my mind. I'll look up and there stands billboard or a sign outside a church with an answer to the question in my mind.
God also uses children to "wake us up" and make us think at times. I was reading a blog this morning about a child who was asking her mom all sorts of questions about God and I made the comment that I liked it when children did this because it helps me to delve into His Word to find the answers. It also heightens my faith because in His Word He says "the little children shall lead them". How can they lead if they aren't brought up in the truth?
God can also speak to us in dreams. Have you ever gone to bed at night with a problem or question in your mind and dreamed about it? I know I have. Sometimes I'll wake in the morning with an answer and sometimes not.
God is always wanting to talk to us. Whether it is through prayer when He talks to our spirit, through His Word when the passages seem to jump right out at us like they are talking to us, through a loving Christian friend's advice ( always make sure it is in line with the Word of God before taking it to heart), our Pastor's teaching and preaching or even through our dreams, we must be open and willing to hear from God. Don't close Him out by limiting the way you are willing to hear from Him. He will contact us the way He wants to and if we aren't open to Him, then we will miss it. We must remember He once spoke to a prophet through a donkey, so He does not always stick to logical or conventional ways to communication.
He does not do things on our terms. We are His creation. We must do things on His terms if we want to have a close lasting relationship with Him.
Good Night to All and May God Bless!

To God be the Glory. We have to believe and we will receive his grace and spirit is there for us to hear his word. Sometimes we need to be patient and listen. Amen
The only limitations God puts on us are clearly defined in His Word. Even God Himself will never do anything contrary to His Word.
Have a great 4th of July :-)

What a beautiful post!
Always make me stop and think when I come over here ... and make me realise I need to strive more!
Thank you :)
PJ, you hit the nail on the head when you made this comment,

My sister and I where discussing this same topic only this week!
I was sharing, that the closer I have become to our heavenly Father, the more I hear His voice throughout the day. The more I hear Him speaking to me, and often answering my questions to Him, through the mouths of others.
It excites me to know that we can discern the things of God.
Unfortunately, we unwittingly, limit the power of God in our lives, by putting Him in boxes, leaning on our own understanding of the situations or challenges we face, expecting God to answer prayers in ‘our’ way.
Thank you for popping into The Faith Lounge. Stay sweet in the Lord, Carole
