"AN UNFORGIVING SPIRIT CAN GET YOU IN TROUBLE"

Hello Everyone!

Just a short post tonight, trying to "get my feet wet again, and get back into some kind of routine.

Here are some consequences of an unforgiving spirit:

1.  It removes God's ability to forgive us because of what He has stated in His Word.  According to Matthew 6:13-15,  (KJV),  (13) And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.  AMEN.  (14)  For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:  (15)  But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

If you think about it, an unforgiving spirit defiles our temple.  Unforgiveness is a sin.  God cannot dwell in the same place as sin.  The dictionary definition for the word defile is: to make foul,  dirty, or unclean;  pollute or taint.  (2) to violate the chastity of.  (3) to make impure for ceremonial use:  desecrate.  (4) to trample on.

Our prayers will not get answered as long as we have an unforgiving spirit, because again it is a sin, and sin blocks our prayers from God.  We must repent of our sins (including forgiving those who we have been harboring resentment and unforgiveness toward.  Then we can pray freely and know our prayers will be answered.

Unforgiveness is like handcuffs.  It keeps us in bondage to our bitterness. It eats away at our soul.

It is like a poison.  We think by not forgiving others, we are "hurting them" in reality the one we are hurting is ourself.  If we don't forgive, it will be us that doesn't get into heaven not the other person.  We need to be forgiving for ourselves as well as for others.

Another interesting thought.  Jesus' first miracle of turning water to wine.  Have you ever thought about how this was a "type" of humanity?  Jesus refers to humans as Vessels.; He referred to the water pots as vessels. The vessels were made of dirt, we were made from dust.  Jesus told the servants to fill the vessels with water, we also contain mostly water.  There were 6 vessels, the Biblical number for man is 6.

Going on, He compares our lives to a "cup", and wine as His Spirit.

Corrie Ten Boom said it best:  NEVER BE AFRAID TO TRUST AN UNKNOWN FUTURE TO A KNOWN GOD.

All I know is, I don't have to be afraid of the future, because God is already there.

I know this isn't like my normal posts but I thought these were interesting facts.

Good Night to All and May God Bless!
