Get A Guide

Good Evening to All!

Well, I'm gonna try this again. I tried to take a short cut and somehow the whole post became a link. I have no idea how I did that, and tried to remove some of the codes, but nothing worked, so I am retyping the whole post.

Today's Seed: "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, 'This is the way; walk in it.'" (Isaiah 30:21)

**************************************************

When you are in an unfamiliar city, the best investment you can make is a good map. It will keep you out of areas of danger and lead you to the interesting and fun places you want to see. We need a guide for our Christian life too, or we won't know what to do in times of trouble or when doubts arise.

Isaiah says that when we come to a crossroad of decision, we will hear instructions from behind us. Picture someone calling from behind as you walk down a path telling you what to expect around the next bend. This is what Isaiah means. But where do we get this kind of guide?

The first and most important guide is the Bible. The words in the Bible come directly from God to us and ever word is true. As you study the Bible, you will find the path is clearly identified

Another guide is your conscience, but conscience is only a good guide when it has been soaked in the truths of the Bible (and the Holy Ghost, see New Testament i.e. infilling of the Holy Spirit). The Bible helps us by being a "manual" for life, and the Holy Ghost will guide us into all truth. When God has taught our conscience, we can rely on it.

We can also count on godly people to act as a guide for us. Other Christians who have relied on God through troubled times can tell us what to do when we don't know which way to turn.

Dig Deeper: The word "way" is translated from the Hebrew word derek. ; It means road or course of life. What a blessing to know that we can get on the right path with the counsel of God directing us!

Weed & Water: We might miss our way or be mistaken about which is the right way unless we get a guide. Notice how sure Isaiah is about the instructions we'll get from godly voices. "This is the way; walk in it" is emphatic and clear. In a world of uncertainty, God promises that we can be confident of our way when wee get our instructions from Him.

Sprout & Scatter: These words of hope follow two promises that God made. First, there will be no more weeping. When we are sure of God's path, we don't need to be fearful or worried. Second, teachers will be present in our lives. Look around you. Are there people who have proven their faithfulness to god? If so, become a student of their words and actions. If not, ask God to bring someone into your life who will help you travel the right path.

Think about it: What dilemma in your life makes you long for God's direction?
What godly person can you rely on?

Prayer Pot: Lord, show me your path and I will follow. . . (Insert your thoughts)

Take-Away Idea: We seldom improve when we have no model but ourselves.

Good Night to All and May God Bless!
