Kudos and A Little Get to Know Me

Millennium Prayer: To World PeaceImage by Loci Lenar via Flickr

1 Timothy 3:16 ( New King James Version)
And without controversy, great is the mystery of godliness:
God was manifested in the flesh,
Justified in the Spirit,
Seen of angels,
Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world,
Received up in glory.
How great is our God! Hi everyone!
First thing right off the bat, I would like to give some big hugs and thank yous to Lynette and Nessa for setting this fantastic blog up for me! So much work went into this baby! I couldn't believe it! They worked on this for me I bet close to 3 hours yesterday. This definitely didn't look like easy work designing this, and I didn't make it any easier being so indecisive. So thanks again ladies! It seems the older I get, the more indecisive I get. When I was "younger" I knew exactly what I wanted, when I wanted it and so on. Now that I've gotten older, the only thing I'm not waiverable (if that's a word) about is my faith and my husband, (and sometimes husband is questionable!) HaHa! No really he's a sweetheart, and puts up with a lot from me.
To give you a little background on myself, I'm 55 years old and have been married to my present husband for 23 wonderful years. He is now on 100% Service Connected Disability from the VA, yea!!!!!!!! It took him 11 years of waiting and fighting to get there. He started out on non-service connected "Improved Pension Plan" they called it. Don't know what was improved about it. If I worked, anything I earned, they took out of his check, and he didn't get very much to start with. Needless to say, my husband didn't want me to work because it would defeat the purpose of his check. I used to waitress, so my income was unstable. Therefore we sat below poverty level. Now talk about being backwards! Now 11 years later, he is making more money, we both get medical benefits, commissary and PX privileges, but now I'm allowed to work and make as much money as I want to! Seems backward to me!
At this point in our lives, I don't want to work very much, (just for spending money) we go on trips and life is pretty good. My point to all of this is "why is the government so backward when it comes to important things like this? When I should have been able to work without him being penalized was 11 years ago when his check was so little! Oh well, there I go rambling again. I tend to accidentally get on my soapbox at the drop of a hat lately, especially when it comes to the government. Nothing like crying over spilled milk, Huh?
We have no children together, but my husband has two that are grown. A son and a daughter. I was never privileged enough to get to know them very well, but would have liked to. I'm told we have some grandchildren living in Waco, but haven't gotten to meet them as of yet. They lived in Kansas for a long time, and until recently we could never afford to go see them. I do have a lot of family though. Of course, I have my immediate family, (my husband, and my 2 sisters) whom I'm close to , then I have my Church family at the New Life Pentecostal Church here in Comanche whom I love dearly, and my "Curves family" who are very dear to me. They have been very supportive of my weight loss (and gain- I have a weakness for Mexican food) . I live out in the country so I don't get to visit with people very often. When I go into Curves, my friends there let me just talk and talk and talk.....Not mention if it weren't for Curves I would not have met Lynette and Nessa, therefore I wouldn't be typing this blog.
As in my last post, I said I want to take prayer requests so don't be shy. I'm definitely a "prayer warrior". I pray constantly during the day whether I'm cleaning house, (mine or anyone else's) driving down the road, cleaning the church, it doesn't matter. A prayer is going from my lips to God's ears. We also have prayer days on Mondays at my church, so I go there and spend about an hour on my knees or just walking and praying near the altar .
I plan a lot of different things for my blog. I hope to share some of my vacation pictures with you from time to time. We went to Tennessee this past June, so when I figure out how to do it, I'll post some pictures. We are planning to go to Branson Missouri in October, and hopefully I'll bring back some neat pictures from there.
I would like for this blog to be informative. Sometimes I might do some research on a certain subject and write about it. I have started writing articles for Associated Content, and plan on including my articles from time to time, not to mention after I get established, I would like to have give aways, and book reviews like a lot of y'all do. I can't wait until all of this comes together. Too bad there's no such thing as a time machine to move these next 3 months forward. Lynette told me it takes that long to get ranked, so I guess I'll have to grin and bear it until then. Hope you like my blog and come see me again.
Until then, May God Bless You All!
