A New Direction

God's GloryImage by loswl via Flickr

Good Evening to All!

I have been thinking today on the direction my blog has taken, and it's not at all like I was intending. I wanted this to be a Christian Blog, one that witnesses to people. A blog that talks to people in a way that when they finish reading it they can say, "that really touched my heart". As it stands yes, I do have a scripture at the beginning, but that doesn't mean much if the rest of the blog doesn't follow suit.

Dear Father, I ask that you touch each and every person's heart that reads my blog. Give them a deeper understanding of why I have chosen to change the direction of this blog and help them to receive something from it. I have tried to infiltrate your Word and my thoughts as well as possible and I am relying on you to open their hearts and minds to receive it.
In Jesus Name I pray, Amen

Tonight, I am going to start off by rededicating this blog by prayer and scripture. Prayer is this "living" Word in our mouths. Our mouths must speak forth faith, for faith is what pleases God (Heb. 11:6). We hold His Word up to Him in prayer, and our Father sees Himself in His Word.

Our God is a "jealous" though loving God. He enjoys it when we remind Him of what He has said to us in His written Word, (Isa.43:26) asking Him for what we need in the name of our Lord Jesus. It is our contact with Him. This is part of what I was talking about in the article I wrote and included in my blog a few days ago called " An Intimate Relationship with God". Praying His scriptures back to Him also shows that we care enough about Him to want to learn about Him and what He has to say. Not only that, it lets Him know that we realize that it is still "All about Him". We get so wrapped up in ourselves and our daily lives that sometimes we forget where we came from (and I don't mean our mommy's tummies). If it weren't for Him none of us would be here, let alone be saved from our sins.

Man is a spirit, he has a soul, and he lives in a body, (1 Thess. 5:23). In order for our body to operate properly, each of these 3 parts must be fed properly. The soul, or intellect, must be fed knowledge to produce intellectual strength. The body feeds on physical food to produce physical strength, and the spirit- the heart or the inward man, the "real" you, the part that has been reborn in Christ Jesus must be fed spiritual food which is God's Word, in order to produce and develop faith. It took me a long time to realize this last part. I thought as long as I went up to the altar, said yes, I accept Jesus as my savior, turned around and walked out, that I would be a changed person. Boy! Was I wrong. It has taken lots of digging into God's Word and prayer to help me understand that this is a journey. Not an instant fix. I read somewhere that It's the journey that matters to God. How we live our lives, whether we care enough to live our lives for Him. After all, it was His breath that He breathed into us to give us life, and then died for us on Calvary, so we were bought with a price. The "least" we can do is live for Him.

Another point I would like to bring up is the fact that we should be "doers" of the Word and not just "hearers". According to James 1:22, it says , "Be doers of the Word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. Faith without works or corresponding actions is dead (James 2:17). Don't be the type of person who agrees that the Bible is true, but never acts on it. We cannot build faith without practicing the Word. In the same token, actions without faith is no good either. It takes both. How many times did Jesus comment "oh ye of little faith", or when the disciples tried to cast out devils in Jesus' name, only to fail at their attempts and Jesus said it was because of their unbelief. Everything take the combination of faith and effort.

I hope that you have found this post to be informative, yet enjoyable. I have really enjoyed doing the research and bringing it to you. In case you are intereted in acquiring this book it is Prayers that avail much by Fermaine Copeland. It has every kind of prayer imaginable for anything. I didn't quote any particular prayers out of it because I'm not too clear on the plaegerism laws and didn't want to get in trouble, however I did get the ideas and some of the quotes from it.

Good Night All and May God Bless!

PJ

Don't beat yourself up. It took me months to figure out the direction I wanted my blog to take.

PJ, I understand what your saying. But I want to remind you that you also can reach many people with the personal touch of how you walk the walk too!

Greetings,

This is short as I have not had breakfast yet. OK, I have my coffee...

I have to say I am very happy with this!! :D I cannot really place my finger on it, but something seemed amiss.

That said, the Lord gave laughter, He gave us varied lives, He never meant for us to be serious all the time. We need to keep those things in their proper perspective, but yet they are allowed a place. You know I have several blogs and they each are a different focus, but I pray that I will always keep the Lord in mind and not be so wrapped up in that, that I am drifting away from Him and His Word.

Blessings,
Kim
