IF

I have a question for you to ponder. Our Adult Sunday School teacher brought this up to us today and I thought it was important, so I leave it with you to ponder. Have you ever thought about how big and important the word "IF" is? Anytime we encounter the word "if", it requires a response, a choice to be made. Have you ever thought about how important your choices are? As the old saying goes, " they can make you or break you. Everything we do in life is a choice. Sometimes we say, " I didn't have a choice". Yes , we did have a choice, we just didn't like them. Sometimes there are bad choices or bad choices. Yes, I know that sounds redundant, but it isn't. There are times when I don't like either or any of the choices which I have to choose from, but just the same, they are choices. For example, I had 2 choices for President. I didn't like either one, but I chose to vote for one just the same. Yes, I must live with my choice even though I may not like it. ( no mine didn't get "chosen by the majority). Anyway, I chose to vote, so that I would have the right to complain if I wanted, because if (there's that word again) someone doesn't vote and is eligible to do so, I don't think they should complain because they chose to "keep silent" .

The same goes for any choice we make. We have to contend with the choices we make in life.
Another example is :

Did you know that the word "IF" is mentioned over 300 times in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John alone? This fact shows me that it is a very important word, and tells me that God wants me to make choices. The question is will I make the Right choices? Choices should not be made lightly.

Mark 4:23 IF any man have ears to hear, let him hear. Condition and response.

John 7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, IF any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. Condition and response.

In John 14:15, Jesus tells us "IF you love me, you will keep my commandments. Condition and response .

John 14:14, Jesus says, IF you ask anything in My name, I will do it. Condition and response.

Galatians 1:9 As we said before, so say I now again, IF any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. Condition and response.

Romans 8:31 What shall we say unto these things? IF God be for us, who can be against us?

These are just a few of the verses in which the word "If" is used. There are many, many more.
As I said, the word "if" is in the 4 gospels alone, over 300 times, which means it must be a pretty important little word. If it is that important to God, then how important should it be to us, to make the right decisions in our lives according to His wishes? Just a thought to ponder.......

May God Bless You All!

Love & Prayers,

I'll be watching for the answers to your quiz. As far as the question of "If" goes, that's some heavy-duty thinking, but you're right... it is very important. Thank you for the reminder.
