Housework, Women's Work? NOT!

sweeping is hard workImage by Kymberly Janisch via Flickr

I HAVE ALWAYS HEARD THE EXPRESSION HOUSEWORK IS WOMEN'S WORK. WELL, IS IT STILL WOMEN'S WORK IF THE MAN IS SINGLE?

Good Afternoon to All!

This is kind of a special post, because I really don't know quite what I'm doing yet, so I don't know if I am supposed to add something to this post as well as the "interview" or not, so Here Goes.

The question for this week is How do you divide up the work at home? Do you help out with house work?

Like Tim said, yes, it's two questions but they do go together.

I interrupted my husband's very important computer game for this interview, so he gave fairly short but sweet answers. Here is how the interview went:

Husband: Are you going to interrupt me again?
Me: I can wait til you're at a stopping place.
Husband: Go ahead, I put it on pause....
Me: OK, How do you divide up the work at home,? Do you help with the housework?

Husband: I do the outside work, and the maintenance. I don't help with housework.
Me: What about your rooms? ( He has a bedroom in the house, he uses as a playroom) and a bedroom out side connected to our porch where he sleeps.
Husband: That's my stuff, not the house stuff like living kitchen and bathrooms.
Me: You cook.
Husband: Fish, that's all, well, I help a little.End of Interview

In all fairness he cooks more than fish. He also makes a mean fried pork chop,

GOD'S GRACE IS SUFFICIENT!

Devotion - Grace

Today's Seed:
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, make us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved.
Ephesians 2:4-5

What is the difference between love, mercy, and grace? Paul describes all three in these two verses by saying that God who is rich in mercy loved us so much that he gave us grace. All three of these represent a part of God's character that caused him to provide a plan for our salvation.

When God looked down at us and saw our needy condition, he had compassion on us. Our suffering and inability to rescue our selves from our circumstances caused him to have mercy on us. When his pity for us ws coupled with his great love, he developed a plan for our freedom. Mercy is the aspect of God's love that caused him to help the miserable. Mercy and love mixed together motivated God, but they did not satisfy his holy nature.

He is a holy God, and he cannot look at sin. That's when his grace took action. Through grace, God exercised the plan to provide Jesus Christ as a substitute for our sin. Grace is the aspect of his love and mercy that moves him to forgive the gulty. Mercy and love are the why of salvation; grace is the how.

My little note: We are saved by grace, because grace teaches us How to repent, and live for God Grace is not only a gift, it is a teacher.

Love & Prayers,

I think its important to care about the other people in the home. If everyone truly cares, the division of work is not really questioned. On the other hand, its also important that neither one take advantage of the other.

If we each strive to love as our Heavenly Father loves us, many problems are diverted.

to be honest i like my hubbys help in moderation.
i am such a freak about what goes where that i tend to take control.
if he can pick up his stuff, put laundry in the hamper and help with the really hard stuff, well then I am content

Hi PJ,

Thanks a lot for participating in my meme. I hope you enjoyed it. It's only been going for about a month now and it has been fun to do. For some reason neither one of your links is working, so I have posted a note in the comment section with a link to your blog. I have really enjoyed reading your blog. I'm having some problems with the link column on my blog, but whenever I get it fixed I will make sure that I link to it.

Hi PJ,
For some reason, I cannot seem to comment on your message for the 7th of January, so I scooted on down here to let you know that I have left you something over at my home on the web.

Great idea, reading the Scriptures in 30 days. I am doing the same, only a different section.
