OUTLIVE YOUR LIFE By Max Lucado

Good Morning to All!

I know this is totally out of the ordinary time line, but this is my first book review for Thomas Nelson, and I'm not quite sure of the "time deadline".

About the author:

Max Lucado is a minister who writes and a writer who preaches the Word of God. He serves at the Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas. He is also noted for being on the "New York Times Best Selling List".

About the Book:

I have just finished reading the most wonderful book titled Outlive Your Life by Max Lucado. In accordance with the Federal Trade Commission, I must tell you that I received this complimentary copy from Book Sneeze of Thomas Nelson Books and that the opinions stated in this post are strictly my own.

I have always like reading books written by Max Lucado, but to me, with this book he has outdone himself. I enjoy books that will help me to better myself as a person, and to motivate me into the next level whether it is the next level of bettering myself physically, emotionally, or of my "intimate relationship with God".

"OUTLIVE YOUR LIFE" by Max Lucado does just that. This books relays the importance of leaving a legacy behind. Not the "worldly kind of legacy" such as being a contributor to a college, or receiving a "chair" in a university, or even a volunteer program with your name on it. I am talking about a legacy of love. When I am gone, I would like for people to remember me not because of what I had done, but WHO I was as a person. I want them to remember that I was a loving, caring human being, who was willing to go out of my way to help those who are in need. Whether their need was money, emotional support, or the need to learn about God and bring Him into their life.

I love the way Max Lucado writes. He brings his thoughts "home" to our door. He doesn't just quote scriptures, or write in such an eloquent language that we can't understand. He helps us to realize that with God's help, we have the potential to outlive our lives to be remembered long after we are gone, as a Children of God who really lived for God. We helped to bring His kingdom to earth until He comes again Himself.

This book talks about all of that. It had me searching the depths of my soul for what I would be leaving on this earth if I were to die today. I literally cried through several of the chapters because this book touch my heart so deeply that I decided to change. after reading what Max was talking to me about (yes, I felt like he was speaking directly to me), I realized that I HAVE to step out and allow God to change me. I cannot change myself, but Max showed me through this book that if I will allow Him God would change me and allow me the chance to "Outlive My Life". Not just to do good for people in the here and now, but even after I am gone.

In his book he brings up many examples of how people have outlived their lives and made a difference in the world. Everything from Mother Teresa helping millions to one person helping another with a single act.

I definitely recommend this book, to anyone. All walks of life, any age. You are never to young to start a legacy of this kind. There are no barriers. You don't have to be rich, or poor, you don't have to be a certain age. Living for God and making a difference can start at ANY age, the sooner the Better. Do something special. step out of your "comfort zone" and start your quest to "Outlive Your Life".

May God Bless!
