Ye shall walk after the LORD your God , and fear (healthy respect) him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him and cleave unto him. Deuteronomy 13:4

As we begin to develop our relationship with God, a VERY IMPORTANT aspect of this is to listen to Him and heed His directions. We must show Him that we are willing to obey His commandments and His wishes. After all, He knows what is best for us at all times. He can see the past, present and future of our lives.

When we first start out, we make it difficult. We may hear a voice within our spirit speaking to us, but we are very insecure as to whether it is God's voice, our own carnal voice, or maybe even God's adversary. If we are unsure, we should check in God's Word to see if what we are hearing goes along with the Bible. If it does, then it is more than likely God's voice.

We as humans are too prideful. We worry too much about what other humans think
about us and not enough about what God thinks. We are too worried that obey God's wishes might require a personal sacrifice or might inconvenience us in some way. It's really sad. When I think about what God sacrificed for me, and how "HE" was inconvenienced, it makes me feel ashamed that I don't do more.

When we as children were learning new things, our parents didn't get angry with us if we didn't get it the first time. God is the same way. He will work with us and teach us how to hear from Him if we will walk in faith and not fear or pride.

We must learn to listen, discern and obey boldly.
The more we practice obeying God's voice the easier it will become. There will
always be times when we wonder, but eventually it will become second nature to us to be able to discern God's voice from the others. Jesus said that "His sheep know His voice". We should never be afraid of stepping out and obeying God's voice. It's not a big thing if we make a mistake. It's also not a big deal if we end up maybe looking a little foolish at times. The key is, is that if you are obeying God's wishes, then you have no reason to be afraid or embarrassed. We don't do this for the benefit of other people, we do it to edify God. If we obey God then whatever we do will be to the benefit of someone else.

We must continually practice this. We must be in-tuned with God and the only way to do this is to listen, and obey. Practice makes perfect. If we don't try, then we will never be able to discern God's voice in our spirit. The more we do it, the more we increase our faith, and the closer we become to God.

Good Night to All and May God Bless!
