"WORDS OF PRAISE"

Good Evening to All!

The LORD is merciful and gracious,

slow to anger, abounding in mercy.

He will not always strive with us ,

nor will He keep His anger forever;

He has not dealt with us according to our sins,

Nor punished us according to our iniquities.

For as the heavens are above the earth,

So great is His mercy for those who fear (respect) Him;

As far as the east is from the west,

So far has he removed our transgressions from us.

As a father pities his children,

So the LORD pities those who fear Him.

For He knows our frame;

He remembers that we are dust.

(Psalm 103:8-12)

The Lord is merciful: This is a basic description of God in the Old Testament (Psalm 86:15; Exodus 34:6-7). If God dealt with us according to our sins, no one could stand before Him (Psalm 130:3). There is no way to compare the divine with the mortal; the mercy of God is greater than the heavens. He removes our sins completely (Micah 7:19) and cares for His people as a good father cares for his children. The fact that God remembers who we are and how He made us is another mark of His mercy, for we are dust.

According to God's Word, we are to strive to be like Him. We are suppose to work toward developing attributes like Christ. If we were to read the above passage, then turn to Galatians 5 22 and read the Fruit of the Spirit, which is also what we are suppose to strive for with the help of the Holy Ghost, we would see that they are pretty much the same.

Fruit of the Spirit--Love, Joy, Peace, Long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control.

See if you can match up the attributes in the Bible passage at the beginning of the post with the Fruit of the Spirit listed above.

This will be my last post for at least a few days. I will be getting the last minute things done before we leave on our trip Thursday morning.

I will probably do some posts during our vacation but regularity of them will depend on the camp grounds that we stay in. Some have Internet access and some don't, so I will post when I can.

Good Night to All and May God Bless!

This is beautiful and so true. None of us would be able to stand before our father without sin. Thank God for sending Jesus
