"THE ARMOR OF GOD"

Good Evening to All!

You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness. (6) Therefore, let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober. (8) But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet , the hope of salvation. (9) for God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, (10) who died for us that whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with Him.
(1 Thessalonians 5:5-6, 8-10 NKJV)

This is how The Message states the same passage: (5) You're sons of Light, daughters of Day. We live under wide open skies and know where we stand. (6) So, let's not sleepwalk through life like those others. let's keep our eyes open and be smart. (8) Walk out into the daylight sober, dressed up in faith, love , and the hope of salvation. (9) God didn't set us up for an angry rejection, but for salvation by our Master, Jesus Christ. (10) He died for us, a death that triggered life.
Though the day of the Lord will overtake the unsaved world unexpectedly, it will not overtake Christians (true), because they will be looking forward and expecting it. The fact that Christ could come at any moment should be enough to motivate unbelievers to accept His forgiveness, and believers to live daily for Him.

Because Christians are informed concerning future events, they should not be spiritually asleep, but should watch and be sober (serious) about what is to come. While a lot of "Christians are under the assumption that they are saved because they have spoken the Words "I accept Jesus as MY PERSONAL SAVIOR, they need to realize that they need to delved deeper into the Word of God and read exactly what it says. We will be judged by the BIBLE itself . According to God's Word, To BE SAVED you MUST keep His commandments LIVE for Him, REPENT and be BAPTIZED as well as many other commandments.

We as "true Christians" must not live as the rest of the "world" does. We are to be "in" the world, but not "of" the world. We should be living disciplined lives according to God's will. When the Bible speaks of the breastplate of faith, it is speaking of developing a faith so strong that the "fiery darts" of Satan cannot penetrate it and get into our heart. We cannot let Satan deceive us and wear down our faith in God.

The basic essentials of a Christian life are faith, hope and love. In contrast to the unbelief of the world, with its love of "self", and of material wealth, Christians place their faith in God and give their love to God and other people.

In addition to demonstrating faith and love, Christians should strive to walk in the spirit, striving for perfection (maturity in Christ), and continue to look toward the Lord's return.

Paul states that God did not appoint us (believers) to wrath. There will be wrath at the Day of the Lord, but it will be God's wrath on the unbelieving world that has spurned and mocked Christ (Rev. 6:12-17). When we think about divine judgment , we should offer thanks to Christ for saving us from that horrible fate by dying for us. Whether we are still living at the Second Coming, or whether we have died and our bodies are in the tomb, it is assured that we will live together with Him for ever.

Good Night to All and May God Bless!
