Good Evening to All!
We also glory in our sufferings, because we knownow that suffering produces perseverance.
Romans 5:3
The Message Bible states it this way: " There’s more to come: We continue to shout our praise even when we’re hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us...
Yes, I have to admit when trials come against me, when problems seem to get out of hand, my first response is definitely not to be joyful, excited or even to look at the positive aspects of the problem. I don't look at what can come out of this predicament. I whine, I complain and I grumble. AFTER a little while, it's like a recorder comes on in my head. I don't like what I hear, so I apologize to God and ask for His forgiveness.
A positive response is definitely not the normal way we look at our obstacles, but this trait can be developed. We must constantly be aware of our thought processes and correct our train of thought. We have to keep in mind that God is bigger and stronger than any problem which we may come across and that if God is allowing us to go through this, there is a lesson in there somewhere, or God intends for something "good" to come out of it.
I have read enough of His Word that I know He will not give me more than I can bear. I also know that trials build character and faith, so really I should welcome trials and tribulations. I know as long as I put God in control, even though I may have tough times, I will get through them with flying colors.
According to my "lesson", viewing our troubles as a kind of “spiritual exercise program” enables us to rejoice (see 1 Peter 1:6-7) as it is speaking of God's power shielding us through our faith says (6) In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. (7) These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. It enables us to see our suffering as something good in our lives. God is using trials in our lives to build and strengthen our faith. Without these pressures, we would we would be failures, because it is putting our faith into action that tells God how much we believe in Him and we can do NOTHING without HIM. As it says in Mark: And Jesus looking upon them saith, "With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible".
We must always keep this verse in mind which will help us to keep things into perspective and help us to keep strong in our faith as we face the "opportunities" of trials which come before us.
God’s Promise to Me says: I allow you to go through trials so that you might grow.
Have a Wonderful Day and May God Bless!

Pj,
Thanks for such a clear explanation of the proper way to approach the trials in life. When we do as you say, it really changes times of stress and discouragement into times of joy and spritual growth!
Lord bless.
Hi PJ,
Towards the end of my latest blog, "Rotten Luck?" I quoted Romans 8:28:
"And we know that all things work for the good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose."
This is the verse I often remind myself when going through life's trials. Like today, working outdoors in a bitter winter cold, with snow and sleet precipitations.
A thought provoking post.
Frank.
I've been browsing online more than 4 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be much more useful than ever before.
