Be a Prepared Bride

CLICK HERE to Share your Blog (tomorrow , JULY 3rd, is the last day)

Good Evening to All!

Today's Seed: "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. ... But in Keeping with [God's]
promise we are looking forward to a new
heaven and a new earth, at he home
of righteousness."
2 Peter 3:10, 13

Brides are never caught off guard by their wedding day. On the other hand, robbery victims are always shocked by a theft. Brides are joyfully prepared. Robbery victims are horrified. depending on our level of preparation, the Second Coming of the Lord will cause one of these two reactions: joy or shock.

In the third chapter of Peter, the author talks about the final judgment of the wicked, the end of the world as we know it, and the new heaven and earth. All believers will receive their reward of heaven and joyful like with God. Of this we can be certain.

But just as certain is the end of this world. It is doomed. The sky will disappear, the things that make up the earth's matter will be destroyed, and all the works of people will be burned up.

Believers can rest in the knowledge of a wonderful afterlife with God. The new heaven and earth will have no disease, suffering, pain, sorrow, or death. All the ravages of sin and the effects of the fall will be gone. Evil will be destroyed. It will be so wonderful and beautiful we cannot adequately describe it using words of this world. Isaiah 121:6 says, "The leopard will lie down with the goat, the calf and the lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them."

In that great day believers--the prepared--will become the bride of Christ.

Dig Deeper: This seed says, "the heavens will disappear with a roar". The Greek word for "roar" is only used once in the New Testament, it is a colorful word from the root rhoizoz, which means the noise made by something whizzing through the air. Easily and in a flash, God will destroy this world.

Weed & Water: Just as a bride is thoroughly prepared for her wedding so we are to be prepared for Christ's coming. Peter explains how believers should live. Here are some of his ideas: Be godly by worshiping God in truth. Act holy by being separate from evil. Look forward to Christ's coming. Be diligent to be found spiritually spotless and blameless. Be on guard against false teachers. Grow in grace and knowledge of God.

Sprout & Scatter: Don't be impatient when Christ's Second Coining seems to be slow in arriving. Know that God is waiting so that more people can be saved. We can help to bring this about by praying for those who don't know Christ, by being good examples of what it means to be a Christian, and by telling others about the hope they can have in Jesus.

Think about it: How can you prepare for Christ's Coming?

What do you look forward to in the new heaven and earth?

Prayer Pot: Lord, your power amazes me. Help me prepare for your coming by (Insert your own thoughts).

Take-Away Ideas: "[God] will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."
Revelation 21:4

I don't know how I keep doing it, but I keep deleting the option for comments. So sorry. It's back on now. I hope you will comment.

Good Night and May God Bless!

Be A Prepared Bride

Good Evening to All!

The Bride

the streets are bathed with goldImage by only alice via Flickr

Good Evening to All!

Before I get started, I want to publicly thank RedHead Riter for redesigning my Blog. I liked the other one also, but I was having trouble figuring out how to add a menu bar or nav buttons, and Nessa wasn't sure either. RedHead Riter happened to ask me a few questions that might help my blog, and I told her she had free rein. This was last night. I went to bed and got up this morning to find this surprise! She did a beautiful job, and I thank her so much!

Devotional

I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will like with them. They will be his people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."

Revelation 21:2-5

I think if someone were to come up to me and ask me what period in time I would like to travel to, this would be it. Don't get me wrong. I'm not morbid, I don't have a death wish, or anything like that. I am just so sick of the way this world is deteriorating morally, spiritually, and environmentally. They have polls for everything, they have statistics for everything. I've often wondered about something. If there was a way to compare the number of criminals to law abiding citizens, which would be more. A statistic for morality vs. immorality (people). Who would be outnumbered? I know that sound crazy, but in these latter days, and crazy times, am I the only one that thinks about these things?

Can you imagine what it would be like to have Christ ruling down here? Nothing but goodness and honesty? Boy! That would be a switch!

Call me crazy, but I look forward to those days!

The above pictures I've chosen because one depicts the "streets of gold which we will be walking on, and the other is because for one thing I couldn't find a picture of Jesus robed in white as our "King", so I thought this picture would be appropriate to show that this time He will not be coming back as the "Lamb of God", but as our Ruler.

Good Night All and May God Bless
