PRAYER STRENGTHENS

Good Evening To All!

And being in agony, [of mind] He prayed [all the] more earnestly. then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. ( Luke 22:44 AMP)

Have you ever been under so much stress or have worried so hard that you broke into a "cold sweat", started shaking and felt like you were going to fall apart any moment? I have. I know that had to be the way Jesus was feeling the night He was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane. Knowing what was to come, and having human traits, how could He feel any different? Yet He gained the strength from God that He needed. The Bible says that Angels ministered to Him. I can't help but think that was due to the intensity of His prayer. If we get serious enough in our prayers, I feel that God will send His angels to minister to us also. As well as to give us the strength we need to get through whatever rough spots we may be going through. Make no mistake, faith that this will come about has to come into play with our prayers. Without faith, our prayers are empty words. It is our faith that "moves mountains".

Speaking of "faith", we must never assume that what God is asking you to do is unobtainable or too hard. We must remember that God will not put more on us than we can bear. We may think so for a fleeting moment, but we must remember that God will help us if we ask. That is one reason He puts us in these trials, to strengthen our faith, and to urge us to call on Him for help. We must remember, We can do ALL things through Christ Which strengthens us. In other words, as long as we have Christ by our side, when we feel like it's getting to be too much for us to handle He will be there to carry us and help us through it. Notice I did not say He would get us out of the problem. He will however help us to know how to deal with the problem, remedy the situation, or provide a way where we thought there is none.

As I have said many times, Prayer Changes Things. The harder you pray the more strength and results you will receive.

I think we are complainers by nature. If we will spend half the energy we use crying and whining about our problems and how hard of time we are having to instead pray harder than we ever have and believe that God will do what He says, and help us, then we would be amazed at the results.

Here are a few sayings and verses that I like to remember about prayer.

1. Prayer Changes Things

2. PUSH-Pray Until Something Happens

3. The effective fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. (Fervent: intense, warm)

I am trying this out tonight as a new format. As you know, I usually use a devotional from a "professional" and then give my take on it. Well, something was brought to my attention tonight, of which I am greatly appreciative, as I definitely wouldn't want to get in trouble, so I am "reading the devotional, and then typing my own idea from it. I hope this will still be as uplifting as many of you have commented to me in the past.

Good night and May God Bless!

I tend to wake each day from the tossing and turning that happens all night. I worry in my sleep. My head is full of how am I going to do this or that and where is the help coming from. I wake tired, sore and anxiety ridden. It takes time each day for me to try and let some of that go.
I wish that my prayer life was richer thus helping me let go of this constant anxiety. But it is part of my illness and may always be here.
