A VITAL NECESSITY

Hi Everyone!

I am finally back among the living! I was beginning to wonder about that for a while! That flu just didn't want to let go, and now my hubby has it! Hopefully, he won't give it back to me. Thank you all so much for your wonderful "Get Well" wishes, and hanging in there with me.

************

One thing I have desired of the LORD, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD, And to inquire in His temple. Psalm 27:4

The phrase dwell in the house of the LORD expresses David's desire to always be nearer to God's presence. The beauty of the LORD speaks of God's "pleasant
nature."

***********
God is a necessity in our lives. Whether we realize it or not, there are forces out there that help us to determine what decisions we make and what we do. Our spirits and our flesh is at "war" with each other. We cannot have both. We need God in our spirits so that He can get our flesh in line with His will. If we do this then we will be able to handle anything that comes our way, the way it should be handled according to God's will. Without Him, we can do nothing. At least nothing for our good, eternal or otherwise. To do this we must have the "faith of a child." A child looks at their daddy with love, respect, and the knowledge that he will do what is best for the child no matter what. This is what God wants from us. A young child does what his dad says to do with no questions asked. This is what God wants from us. A child has unconditional love from and for his dad. This is what God wants from us and has for us. What more could a child ask for than a dad that loves Him so much that He will die for him and love him unconditionally?

People mistakenly assume that "the house of the Lord" always means a tabernacle or a church building. The problem with that thought is the fact that in the Bible it says that WE are the temple of God. Therefore, anywhere we may be we can be in the presence of the Lord if we focus upon Him and Him alone. If we think about what it is that HE wants for us rather than what we want, for what we usually want is of a natural or "carnal" nature, and what He wants is mostly of a spiritual nature. He will bless us with material things such as good jobs, money, wonderful relationships, but only if we love and trust in HIM and allow Him to have His way in our lives.

Some people look to him like a genie in a lamp. Rub the lamp three times and your wish is his command. This is not God.

He is our Heavenly Father who loves us and wants and expects the same from us. He wants us to love, cherish and OBEY Him. To learn about Him and get to know Him. The more we do this, the closer we will come to Him, and Him to us.

His fleshly body's death was not to be in vain. It was done for a reason. God
became flesh, just so He could be our sacrifice and shed His blood from a perfect unblemished human so we could be saved and eventually live in eternity with Him. Therefore it stands to reason that we should have enough love and common sense to want to learn, love, and respect His wishes for us. Live like He wants us to live. He knows what it will take for us to get into heaven. If we take the reins of our lives ourselves, then we will just be guessing and make a big mess of things. Why not do it His way and go with the SURE thing? Sin will not be allowed in Heaven, and "I'm sorry's won't cut it on Judgment Day. Some of the requirements of being "saved" according to Acts 2:38 which is mentioned as the "EARLY CHURCH" was beginning, is to REPENT (turn away from sin and don't do this act again), BE BAPTIZED IN THE NAME OF JESUS, and you SHALL receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. If a person waits until Judgment Day, in front of God and think I'm sorry, please forgive me will suffice, it will be too late, because repenting will not be possible. Now is the time to start "living for God", reading and studying His Word and understanding how He wants us to live our lives to be able to enter into eternity with Him. There are many instances in the Bible of people with "good intentions" who thought" they were good people and would get into heaven for that reason. They thought because they were good people and talked a lot about God, and tried to cast out demons in His name. They truly thought they were doing the right thing. The problem was, they did not KNOW GOD PERSONALLY, they did not have a relationship with Him, so He turn them away saying "I never knew you". I don't know about anyone else in the world, but I don't want to be one of those people. I plan on learning as much about God, how He wants me to live and abide by His wishes as much as I can. I want no guessing as to where I'm going to spend eternity in my mind or heart. I hope you feel the same.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year. May the coming year be filled with wonderful Spiritual and material Blessings for YOU ALL!

God Bless,

I really appreciate you illustrating the relationship we have with our earthly fathers as the same type of relationship we should have with our Heavenly Father.

Unconditional love, and trusting in Him to always do what is for our good, are two important marks of having a true relationship with Him.

Even when I cannot understand what He is doing... I need to trust Him as my loving Father and seek to serve Him.

Job had learned that lesson when, after he had lost (everything except his salvation) he made the statement...

"Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him." Job 13:15

May the Lord bless you, PJ. Welcome back!
