Have
you ever given thought on how Satan tries to build walls to keep us
from a relationship with God? Not only does he try to separate us
from God, but he tries to keep us from building strong healthy
relationships with other people as well.
His
sole purpose is to kill, steal and destroy our joy. Joy in the Lord,
joy in life and joy in each other.
According
to the last part of Galatians 5:6 do you know what really matters in
our Christian walk? It is faith, which works by love. God wants us
to have complete trust in Him. To have faith in Him in every way.
To do this we must have a deep rooted love for our God.
In
Galatians 5:14, it tells us that the fulfillment of God's law is to
love thy neighbor as thyself. If we do this, then everything else is
covered.
In
1 John 4:7-8, it tells us: “Beloved, let us love one
another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of
God, and knoweth God.”
8 He
that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. These verses right
here tell the story to me. God, Himself is love, so if we don't love
others, then it is obvious that we don't know God, let alone love
Him. Those verses show how important it is for us to love people whom God puts into our lives. This is why the devil desires to put up walls between us , so that we will not love each other. He wants us to be ineffective Christians. The sad part about it is, there are a lot of these type people in the world today. They may go to church and sit on a pew, but to walk the walk and talk the talk is another story. They don't go because they love God, they attend church for other ulterior motives. I have seen people go to church and use it as a “social networking” event for their job, or events. I have seen people “use” church for the sake of getting financial help from the church family, and many other reasons. All which have NOTHING to do with Worshipping and loving God.
Whether it is differences between races, genders denominations, family members, co-workers, or neighbors, the enemy is working overtime to place walls between people.
I hope sometime tonight or tomorrow, you will say a prayer asking God to take down any walls between you and others and to let you know specific ways you can show love to them.
To go a step even further, he tries to convince us that we can't and don't feel God. This can be because of many different things. We may have some sin in our life that we have yet to repent of (change our lifestyle). We may be thinking of a million other things while sitting there supposedly focusing on God. There is bitterness and unforgiveness. We need to remember that God's Word said in Mathew 5:24 that we must "Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift." So if we are angry with our "brother, neighbor or anyone", we must do this. before we will have a clear path to God's ears, or maybe even feel Him.
Other things which may hinder our walk with God are things like allowing the world to dictate what direction our life should go. We have to be on constant guard for worldly things such as video games that portray anything but Christian values, music that doesn't edify or lift others up, money burning a "hole in our pocket, yet refusing to pay tithes. These are just a few examples of Hindrances in our walk with God.
Good Night and May God Bless!
